The “Best of the Maldives” liveaboard diving trip is the ultimate experience for divers who want to explore the most famous and stunning dive sites in Male and Ari Atolls. You’ll get to discover the best sites for channel, drift, and pinnacle diving where you’ll have the opportunity to encounter a range of mesmerizing marine life, including mantas, whale sharks, and many other species.
We offer a flexible itinerary that allows you to explore this underwater paradise at any time of the year. Our goal is to give you a mix of big fish dives, such as shark and manta encounters, as well as reef dives, reef fish, morays, and macro life. You’ll have the chance to get up close to the cleaning stations and observe the locals without disturbing them.
Rasdhoo Madivaru – North Ari Atoll
Located at the corner of the channel into the atoll, Rasdhoo Madivaru Corner is a world-renowned dive site that has earned its place as a must-visit for experienced divers in the Maldives. The reef formation found here is one of the most spectacular and intricate in Ari Atoll. One of the highlights of this dive is the awe-inspiring sight of hammerhead sharks emerging in large groups just before sunrise. During the early hours, divers can also witness dolphins, dog tooth tunas, and schools of black snapper at the reef edge. Whitetip reef sharks, pelagics, trevallys, little tunas, jacks, ribbon eels, fish leaves tunas, Napoleon wrasse, and barracudas are just some of the many species that you can observe in this mesmerising dive site.
Fish Head – North Ari
Fish Head, also known as Shark Point or Mushimasmingili Thila, is a stunning example of a thila – a large, isolated flat top reef that rises sharply from the inner atoll floor. The reef starts at 40m to 50m depth and comes up to around 10m from the surface. This dive site is a paradise for shark lovers as it’s one of the best spots to see them. The site features a series of caves and overhangs, where thousands of blueline snapper can be seen against a backdrop of black coral. Experience the thrill of diving amongst the many species that call this site home, including trevallys, barracudas, and Napoleon wrasse. With excellent underwater visibility, this dive site is a must-visit for any diver in the Maldives.
Maaya Thila – North Ari Atoll
Kandooma Thila – South Male Atoll
Nestled within a channel, this vibrant reef is teeming with an incredible array of marine creatures, thanks to the nutrient-rich currents that flow through its waters. Soft corals flourish here, creating a colorful backdrop for the diverse fish life and invertebrates that call this reef home. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of majestic sea turtles gliding gracefully through the water, as well as the occasional appearance of sharks and eagle rays along the reef slope.
M/Y Blue Voyager is a 37m steel vessel with three double cabins and ten twin cabins. The boat features indoor and outdoor dining areas, a bar, and a sky lounge, as well as a Jacuzzi. The mid deck has a shaded outdoor lounge area and there are four different sun decks, including a viewing deck at the front of both the mid and upper decks, an open air deck on the top deck, and an ocean deck at the stern of the boat.
The ocean deck is a unique spot to enjoy the open air and watch for marine life, as the floodlights attract plankton, manta rays, and whale sharks. The boat also boasts a custom-built dhoni, Blue Shadow, which is spacious, fast, and equipped with modern conveniences for diving. In the Maldives, there are between 25 to 30 different species of sharks that inhabit the surrounding waters. Among these, there are several common species that you are most likely to encounter during your visit. These include:
Blacktip Reef Sharks – These sharks are typically found near coral reefs and feed on small schooling fish and crustaceans.
Whitetip Reef Sharks – Similar to blacktip reef sharks, whitetip reef sharks also inhabit coral reefs throughout the Indo-Pacific region, particularly in the shallow coastal waters of the Maldives.
Grey Reef Shark – The abundance of coral reefs in the Maldives makes it an ideal habitat for the grey reef shark and other species of reef sharks.
Tiger Sharks – Some parts of the Maldives have a large permanent population of tiger sharks, including the Fuhvamulah atoll, which is believed to have up to 200 adults.
Scalloped Hammerhead Sharks – With their distinctive T-shaped heads, these sharks are easily recognizable and can be found in the Maldives.
Whale Shark – The largest species of shark in the world, whale sharks are gentle giants that can grow up to 60 feet long.
Nurse Shark – Measuring around 6 feet long, nurse sharks are commonly found in tropical and subtropical waters throughout the Pacific Ocean.
Thresher Shark – Although usually found in open waters, thresher sharks can sometimes be seen close to the island of Fuvahmulah in the Maldives, where they visit a cleaning station.
Aside from these species, there are also other sharks that you may encounter, such as the zebra shark (also known as the leopard shark), the guitar shark (a type of ray), and the silky shark (commonly seen around deepwater reefs, sometimes diving to depths up to 1,600 feet).

A liveaboard is a purpose-built scuba diving vessel or an existing boat that has been adapted to cater to divers. These trips typically last longer than one night, with the average duration being 7 nights. Liveaboard boats can host between 12 and 30 divers, although smaller and larger vessels are also available. Most liveaboard packages include diving, food, and drinks.
